Hi Mariana.
I present an alternative to carry out the transformation that you suggest, for this I resort to a chemoselective reaction of a ketone in the presence of an aldehyde. On the other hand, the greater reactivity of the aldehyde is used to form an epoxide with a sulfur ylide and finally 2 eq of a Grignard are used to open the epoxide. One eq is consumed by the presence of OH, coming from the reduction of the ketone and the other manages to open the epoxide to form the alcohol.
